Andrei I. Cursaru is the Political Officer and Attaché at the EU Delegation in Moldova. He is further the Founder & CEO of the Centre for Youth and International Studies (CYIS).
Formerly, Andrei has worked for NATO’s two Strategic Commands as Civil-Military Expert at NATO Supreme Headquarters Alliance Europe (SHAPE) and as Special Advisor and Special Advisor to the Supreme Allied Commander Transformation (SACT) for NATO-EU cooperation, Resilience and China and Warfare Development Scenario Analyst at NATO Allied Command Transformation (ACT).
Previously to his NATO assignment, he served in key international security organisations from 2016 – 2020, most notably at:
- European Commission (EC)
- Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE)
- Organisation for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) and
- Comprehensive Test Ban Treaty Organization (CTBTO)
An alumnus of the University of Warwick, Andrei I. Cursaru graduated in 2020 with a MA in International Security. Author of various articles on emerging international security threats, his areas of expertise include arms control, disarmament and non-proliferation, CBRN policy, security foresight & long-range trend analysis, autonomous technologies, future of conflict, and space warfare within the NATO-EU cooperation and Sino-US relation context.
His mission is to solve youth vulnerabilities from emerging threats with innovative and sustainable solutions. He brings the creative thinking of youth to shape the strategic agenda for governments, industry and academia through analysis on emerging cross-dimensional and regional threats to youth. He is committed to providing the best strategic analysis to an ever-widening audience. Andrei further helps social entrepreneurs successfully navigate the challenging journey of building a successful and impactful NGO by providing true partnership, engaging leadership, industry experience and access to key resources.
